Joan B. Doman
Joan B. Doman, 83 of Granby, CT died Tuesday, May 20, 2003.
Mrs. Doman was born on Manhattan Island the daughter of Anne (Lucas) and Bernard J. Hamilton, both of New York City. A graduate of University of Michigan in 1941, her diverse life included work for a Wall Street law firm, as journalist with Stamford (CT) Advocate, as teacher at Ridgefield High School in Connecticut, and several years living in Rome, Italy. A pilot and member of "The Ninety-Nines," pre-World War II women's organization that led to the WAFS, Women's Air Ferry Service. She was pre-deceased by her father-in-law Albert E. Doman and mother-in-law Ruth Sweet Doman, both of Elbridge, NY.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years Glidden S. Doman, a native of Elbridge. Also surviving are a son Steve Hamilton Doman of Seattle, WA; two daughters Jo Ann Sweet Doman Van Buskirk of Columbus, OH and Terry Gene Doman Gibbon of Medford Lakes, NJ; eight grandchildren.
Graveside services are 2:00 pm Friday at Elbridge Rural Cemetery, Rt 5 Elbridge.
Arrangements are by B.L. Bush & Sons Funeral Home, Camillus.
