To the East I see the moon rise. It is crescent rising though the trees. I look above as the birds begin to sing, but I still see the dipper eaten by the trees. The handle I see feeding the world to be. Can we ever live in peace with such atrocities? The birds say yes as they sing their song. It is a new day, one that we have longed. It is tranquil while I see my breath. A breath that lingers quietly, quietly by my breast It says that there is hope, Hope we cannot see because we are entrapped by the atrocities. We can only break though by our own demand. Because it is that, that ride what we think is real when real is really all around us but we fail to see. Written by Joseph F. O'Neill, Jr. 2002
