Edward J. West
Edward J. ''Ed'' West, 78, of Amber died Wednesday, September 11, 2002 at his home. Born in Dunkirk, he attended the University of Buffalo.
He retired in 1986 as an insurance claims manager after 25 years with Uniguard Insurance Co.
He was a Mason, a member of Fairmount Community Church and the Power Squadron, and a former member of Otisco Rod & Gun Club.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
A son, John P.West died in 1979.
Survivors: His wife of 19 years, the former Becky Frank;
three daughters, Judy and George Green of Canton, Ohio, Carol and Daniel Empie of Lowville, NYand Elizabeth and Rey Mellomida of Fairfield, Calif.;
two sons, Thomas Edward and Nancy Hart West of Hayward, Calif., and Paul Gerland of Paxton, Mass.;
a brother, Richard Van Reemen West;
16 grandchildren;Nathan Green, Carrie Green Sawulski, Tanya Lynn West, Stefanie Lawson, Brandi Lawson, Adam Empie, Abigail Kessler West, James Adrew West, Michael Cody West, Emma West, Shwna Mellomida and Nicholas Mellomid; .
One great-grandchild, Tobin Schafer Green
one stepdaughter, Lisa C. Fauley of Glendate, NY; one stepson, Shaun and Margaret Lennarson Fauley of Bolingbrook, IL;
four step-grandchildren Taylor Russell, Kaylin Rebecca Fauley, Alex Evangelista and Eric Evangelista.
Services will be Saturday 11 am at Fairmount Community Church.
Calling hours will be Friday 4-6 pm at B.L. Bush & Sons Funeral Home, 10 Genesee Street, Camillus.
