Delmore Andrew Lambert

Delmore Andrew Lambert of Lakeland, Florida and Camillus, New York, died at home of cancer March 3, 2005. Born in Northfield, Vermont on November 28,1922, he was a winter resident of Lakeland. He was a World War II Navy veteran where he served as an aerial gunner and bombardier aboard seaplanes in the Atlantic. Later he was selected by ROTC and served as a supply officer aboard attack transport ships and later as a liaison for NATO SACLANT. He had a varied career after the military, settling as a Math teacher for 20 years in Liverpool, New York. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Florence Ashby Lambert, a daughter Melodie Sharp of Fairmount and son Mark Lambert of Barkhamsted, CT. He has four grandchildren Lara Sharp, Ryan Sharp, Eric Lambert and Lawrence Lambert; two brothers, Robert of Springfield, VT and Francis of Ladson, SC and three sisters, Priscilla Henninger, Cynthia Monette, and Grace McGuirk. Services were 10 am Saturday March 19 at B.L. Bush & Sons, 10 Genesee St., Camillus. Calling hours were 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Friday at funeral home. Spring burial in Maplewood Cemetery, Camillus. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations may be made to National Alliance for Autism Research, 99 Wall Street, Research Park, Princeton NJ 08540 in his name.
