Mary Etta (Niles) Watson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary Etta Watson, 97, passed away on January 20, 2007. She was a passenger in an automobile accident in Florida and died at the scene. Her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Joseph DeCapio were hospitalized with injuries sustained in this accident. Mary was born in Hunt, N.Y. on November 06, 1909. She was one of seven daughters and one son born to Frederick and Lulu Niles. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Nursing School in Syracuse in 1936. Mary was spending the winters in Lakeland, FL and summers in Marcellus. She had been a longtime resident of Howlett Hill Road. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Theodore Watson. Mary is survived by three daughters, Barbara (Frank) Hoppes, of Lakeland, Fl; Joan (Elmer) Frederich, of Lakeland, Fl and Ann (Joseph) DeCapio of Marcellus, N.Y. and Melborne, Fl.; four granddaughters, Elizabeth Fay, Barbara (Joseph) Ryder, Linnea DeCapio and Jessica DeCapio; nine grandsons, Robert Fay, Mark (Denise) Tedesco, Paul, Jason (Sarah), Tony, Adam, Joshua, Matthew and Peter (Angie) De Capio; five great-grandchildren, Rob (Jen) Tedesco, Justin DeCapio, Jack Ryder and Brandon and Kenai DeCapio; two great-great-grandsons Nicholas De Capio and Robbie Tedesco; six nieces and three nephews. Mary was a wonderful, loving, compassionate and caring person. She was the "caregiver" of the family group.
