Mary Toman Fogel

September 16, 2013

On Monday, Mary Toman Fogel, of Westvale, wife of George Fogel, mother of Linda Ball (Thomas Griffith), Donna Ball, James (Debra) Toman, John, (Kelly) Ball, Tim (Lisa) Toman and Michelle (Tracie Vacula) Toman; grandmother to Micah Adams, Jake Midlar (Brenda Bush), Chelsea Toman, Amanda Ball, Laura Ball, Kody Toman, Katie Hersom, Abby Hutton, Thomas Toman (Ashley); great-grandmother to Bradley, Zooey, Addley, Kennedy, Hunter, Logan and MacKenzie; stepmother to Jeffrey, Jennifer, Jessica (Raphael), Jaimee; step-grandmother to Tommy, Jesse, Kailynn, Gabriel, Ashton and Ophelia, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Mary was pre-deceased by her parents, Stephen and Mary LeClare and her beloved godmother, Margaret Devereaux. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School and later in life, from Onondaga Community College. A proponent of education, she continued taking classes at University College at Syracuse University over the years. She enjoyed her role as a mentor to her many business colleagues. Mary lost her mother at a very young age. She experienced the particular loneliness of an orphaned child and understandably yearned for a family of her own. Her lifelong commitment to family is reflected in the very first sentence of this obituary; she knew of no higher calling. She joyously planned family holidays to bring all together to her beautiful home. As it expanded to the partners of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, she would joyously sit back, observe her family, and guide with love and care and wisdom the generations she created. The fruits of her labor were her pride and joy and when her family was raised and sent off to begin their careers, she looked to begin her next journey. She became a realtor. Her role as Mary Toman, Realtor gave an outlet for her amazing energy. She loved to be the person to help people find homes for their growing families. It was a continuation of her personal mission in life and she reveled in the challenges of real estate. She was remarkably good at it and was most proud of having nurtured thousands of families through the home buying process. She held the hands and wiped the tears, and celebrated the successes of clients and colleagues alike with much the same passion she perfected with her family. Her family was completed with her marriage to George Fogel over 9 years ago. He was her rock, her confidante, her friend and her love. All who knew the love of Mary Toman Fogel were blessed. Her family is comforted by the voices, concerns, love and care of you all and we stand humbled by your love of our mother and wife. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, September 18th from 3-8PM at St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church on 1001 Woods Rd., Solvay, NY. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, at 9:30AM at church. Arrangements by B.L. Bush & Sons Funeral Home, Camillus, NY. Entombment in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners will be private following the mass. It was Mary's sincerest wish that, in lieu of flowers, her friends support her commitment to one of the following: Hospice of Central NY 990 7th North Street Liverpool, NY 13088 Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America Attn: Honor and Memorial Gifts PO Box 1245 Albert Lea, MN 56007 St. Jude's Children's Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 Please sign the guestbook at www.BLBUSH.com
