June G. Wilkinson, 97, of Fairmount a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, reunited with her husband John and daughter Pamela on October 15, 2025. Born on June 14, 1928 to the late Frederick LaMica and Elizabeth LaMica in Malone, NY, June was the sixth of fourteen children. June worked hard on her family's farm, always careful not to scratch the cows' udders with her fancy waitress nails when she milked them. After graduating from Potsdam High School, she moved to the big city of Syracuse. She worked at Syracuse China. There, she met the love of her life, John Wilkinson, Jr., who declared to his father, "I'm going to marry that girl." The two were wed on May 27, 1949. June was a devoted caretaker, raising not only her children but neighborhood children as well. She was known for her love of cooking and baking; her recipe for potato salad can be closely copied, but never replicated. June also had the greenest thumb; everything she touched bloomed into life and color. Her gardens, especially her peonies and roses, were her pride and joy. Always compassionate and kind, June donated her time and skills by serving food and smiles for over 30 years at the Camillus Senior Center, knitting hats and blankets for NICU babies at St. Joseph's Hospital, and crocheting lap blankets for local nursing homes. June will be remembered fondly for her kindness, generosity, boundless love, and quiet humor. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 47 years John Wilkinson, Jr., daughter Pamela Anne Wilkinson, brothers Antoine, Arlington, Francis, Isadore, Madore, Theodore, and sisters Eunice LaMica, Helen Alton, Peg Hogle, Theresa Smith, Viola Burton. She is survived by her son Wayne Wilkinson, daughter Deborah Dudzinski, daughter Wendy Briscoe (Scott), grandchildren Wade Wilkinson (Missy), Kim Ryan (Jon), Chad Dudzinski, Deanna Pereira (Steve), Kyle Dudzinski, Jordan Artichoker (Jace), and great-grandchildren Wyatt, Warren, Lydia, Calla, Lara, and Kota. She is also survived by her sister Marilyn Pharoah and brother Kenneth LaMica. Calling hours will be Sunday, October 19th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at B.L. Bush & Sons Funeral Home, 10 Genesee Street, Camillus with services to follow at 3:00 pm. Burial will be private in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
