Dorothy C. Wehmann of Syracuse died at the age of 90 on January 11, 2022. Born in the Manhattan Borough in New York, “Dot” as she was typically called, moved with her family to DeWitt as a young girl. She graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1949 and Cornell University in 1953. Dot received a master’s degree from Syracuse University prior to working at Solvay Elementary School for many years as a devoted teacher. Dot enjoyed golfing, reading, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and creating beautiful cross stitch and knitted items in her free time. She was an amazing mother who always put her daughters’ needs first. Dot enjoyed close and loving relationships with all of her grandchildren. Dot was predeceased by her daughter Karen in 2008. Surviving are her daughter, Alison W. (Rich) Conley of Marcellus, NY; a sister, Lois Schermerhorn of Syracuse, NY, granddaughters Kara Conley of Syracuse and Megan Conley of Manchester, NH; and grandsons Sean Conley of Fort Collins, CO, Tyler Seldomridge of Park City, UT, and Benjamin Seldomridge of Leola, PA; and five nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in the spring when it will be safe for family and friends to gather. Burial will be in DeWitt Cemetery. Arrangements by B.L. Bush & Sons Funeral Home, Camillus.
