Lois J. Tank

Lois J. Tank passed away peacefully, at home with family on Saturday, January 17th. Lois was born on February 25, 1951 in Johnson City, New York to Dorothea R. Park and Raymond E. Lockwood and fondly recalled her early years in the beautiful farmland south of Binghamton. Her family later moved to Fairmount and enjoyed summers in the Finger Lakes. She attended West Genesee High School where she was an enthusiastic cheerleader and majorette and met her husband William (Bill) Tank. She then attended Canton College where she met her cherished sorority sisters. After graduation, she and Bill were married in Syracuse and initially lived in Camillus while she worked at Mutual of New York. They moved to Skaneateles Lake in 1975 and began renovating a camp, while her parents built a home next door. She and Bill worked tirelessly to build a beautiful home, enjoying summers on the water with friends in the cove, barbeque dinners on the deck, and sunsets from her beloved porch swing. She enjoyed raising her children, then working as a Library Aide at State Street Elementary School and Office Assistant in a medical office. She always had a love of fashion and sense of adventure, learning to ride her own Harley Davidson and looking forward to traveling to beautiful places with friends and family. She was also a consummate hostess and loved entertaining as well as meeting dear friends out for a night on the town. In retirement, she and Bill especially cherished their time with friends at the Red Jacket Yacht Club on Cayuga Lake and spending the winters in Venice, Florida, before retiring there year-round in 2019. Lois is predeceased by her parents and brother, Lawrence. She was survived by her husband, Bill; daughter Heather Niland; son Trevor (Stacey) Tank; grandchildren Tobey Niland, Jackson Tank, and Crosby Tank, as well as her brothers Paul (Dina) Lockwood and Gary (Deborah) Lockwood and several nieces and nephews. Lois was always excited to cheer for her grandchildren and share stories with friends and family. Her bright smile, universal kindness, and gentle soul will be missed tremendously. At her request, services will not be held in the near term. A celebration of life will be organized this summer. Arrangements by B.L. Bush & Sons Funeral Home, Camillus.
