Virginia A. Case

Virginia Ann Case, age 86, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025. Born in North Syracuse, NY, to Walter and Virginia (Ziegler) Staerker, Virginia lived most of her life in North Syracuse and Camillus, NY. She will be remembered for her warmth, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Virginia was married to her beloved husband, Richard Case, for 46 wonderful years. Together they built a loving home filled with laughter, generosity, and care. She opened her heart and her home to family and friends, always ready to offer a comforting meal or a place to stay for anyone going through a difficult time. Her kindness and selflessness touched countless lives. Ginnie was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed watching NBA basketball, rarely missing a Golden State Warriors game. Virginia also cared deeply for animals throughout her life. She welcomed many into her home, but her greatest joy came from the cats she took in and loved as part of her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Virginia Staerker, and her husband, Richard Case. She is survived by her two daughters and one son: Pamela (Jason) Nagle of Auburn, NY; Donna Bandera of Syracuse, NY; and Todd Case of Camillus, NY; her sisters, Joan, Peggy, and Denise; six grandchildren — Virginia Wheeler, Andrew Rockwell, Cal Rockwell, Lacy Cornell, Cheyenne Martin, and Lucas Bandera — and nine great-grandchildren — Lexi, Jason, and Jazzy Rockwell; Caidi Rusin, Josh Wheeler, Olivia Rockwell, Cameron Rockwell, Evellynn Debra Ann Martin, Ella May Bandera and one great great grandchild Jacelle Henderson— all of whom brought her immense joy and pride. Calling hours will be held Monday, October 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at B.L. Bush & Sons Funeral Home, 10 Genesee Street, Camillus. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery.
